Frequently Asked Questions

Quality Inspections FAQ

How do I set up AQL sampling plans?

Link SE includes built-in AQL sampling based on ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 standards. You configure sampling plans by defining inspection levels (GI-III or S1-4), AQL values for critical/major/minor defects, and lot size ranges. The system automatically calculates sample sizes and accept/reject numbers for inspections.

Can inspectors add photos to defect records?

Yes, inspectors can capture photos directly from the mobile app and attach them to specific defect records. Photos provide visual evidence, improve communication, and support root cause analysis. All photos are stored securely and included in inspection reports.

How does defect tracking work?

Link SE quality checks store every defect with detailed information including defect type, location, severity classification (critical/major/minor), photos, comments, inspector name, date and time, and linked orders. You can analyze defect trends over time, by product, by supplier, or by production line to identify patterns and drive improvements.

Can I display live quality data on shop floor monitors?

Yes, our Visual Spot application displays real-time quality metrics on shop floor monitors and TV screens. The live QC Board shows current defect rates, inspection results, quality trends, production status, and alerts. This creates immediate visibility for production teams to respond quickly to quality issues.

How do I monitor inspector performance?

Link SE provides inspector performance analytics including number of inspections completed, time per inspection, defect detection rates, and shift comparison. These metrics help identify training needs, optimize resource allocation, and recognize top performers.

Can I perform measurements with tolerance checking?

Yes, Link SE supports dimensional measurements with automatic tolerance verification. You define upper/lower limits and inspectors enter measurements during inspections. The system automatically flags out-of-tolerance readings and includes measurement data in reports with pass/fail indicators.

How do I link inspections to production orders?

Inspections can be linked to a range of order types - production orders, sales orders, purchase orders - through the inspection request or during inspection creation. This linkage enables traceability, allows batch-level quality analysis, supports order status tracking, and contributes towards complete audit trails from materials to finished products.
